The first time when I walked into Historic Home in Clinton, I was amazed to see the beauty of architectural home and all the different characteristic of the gorgeous mansion. As my buyers were looking to buy Historic property, I started getting more into the historic homes. As you all know Massachusetts have great history, the state has very rare and historical buildings and homes throughout the state.
The curiosity and my eagerness to learn more about historic homes pulled me to get more into reading about historic homes, their values, legacy and from then I started attending training sessions on Historic homes. That learning process was an eye opener on how buyers/sellers think differently when it comes to historic home.
Personally, I am a very big fan of historic homes, they are very charming, with full of character, there sturdiness, the beautiful work and details of woodwork and carpentry and along with that it represents the special aspects of an historical era which we all should cherish. Historic homes have certain official list that differentiates an old home from a historic home. Historic homes have been officially registered and designated as “historic” due to their age, architectural style and/or overall significance.
Should you buy a historic home?
If you like the beauty and charm of older homes, different architectural feeling then before buying a historic home, be sure to weigh the pros and cons mentioned above.
Ask the questions to yourself if owning a Historic home brings the joys filled with its own history, charm and character outweighs the pain of possible repairs, high insurance rates and strict rules – then you have your answer. While historic homes are often considered “high maintenance,” owners will tell you that they are well-worth the extra time and effort required. Do consult with your Realtor and let him/her know your consideration of particular historical district you are looking for.
